From time to time it is important to change your habits. This allows us to jog patterns that form and break the trends we subconsciously make for ourselves.
When we break these bonds, new ways of seeing and interacting with the world are re- discovered. I find then, this is when I am the most creative and infused with ideas to start new works.
One of the ways I do this is by going on away to a different environment and space, where I am pushed out of my normal rhythm. My perspective alters. My thought structures change and I am able to ponder new ways of creating.
Holidays allow your outlook to change and in turn this allows you to make changes to your usual vantage point. When I am in nature (my power spot) I am immediately infused with ideas, energy flows and allows me to see where I need to go with images for my next series of work.
Being by oneself at times can greatly enhance the thought processes as we can connect back to the inner core.
On my return I am charged with ideas which have been sparked by my break away.
